11/04/2018 · I've only done a few L joints on solid wood kitchen worktops - in 40mm bamboo and 30mm oak. I always end up hiring a jig from my local tool hire shop and doing the cuts with my Elu router. Unfortunately my router isn't deep enough to do the 40mm in one go, so I did the top 30mm with the router and the remaining 10mm with a good hand-saw and a rasp.

12/03/2007 · For solid wood I've always regarded the worktop jig as complete overkill. After all you're only doing a butt joint with a 600mm long small recessed bit and a couple of tiny chamfers. Strikes me that I've probably spent as much time writing this as it would have taken me to do the job
